5 Self Care & Wellness Apps that you need in your Life
These are unprecedented times. Your daily routine, social interactions, and just life in general, have likely drastically changed within the past few weeks. Suddenly, we are all cooped up in our houses with family, and have no where to go and nothing to do. This can have both its benefits and drawbacks. Spending more quality time with family is something that should be cherished – However, I know that these times can bring an incredible amount of stress and anxiety surrounding the unknown. Will I have enough money to pay my bills this week? Do I have access to financial support? When will I be able to see my loved ones/ peers? Will my family stay safe and healthy? What can I do? These are tough times. I encourage you all to check in with YOURSELF. Our mental health is just important as our physical well being, and as a result I wanted to provide you all with a list of my top favorite wellness apps to keep you in the right head-space.
Headspace is a great app that acts as a guide to help you achieve your daily mindfulness in just a few minutes per day. The app has hundreds of various guided meditations depending on what you are looking for (managing stress & anxiety, aiding sleep, productivity, etc.). Headspace also has a Wake up and Move mode. You can ‘wake up’ and start your day with short real life stories to keep you inspired and motivated. Or choose the ‘move’ mode, to exercise both your mind and body. This app is great if you want a bit of everything!
Calm is a great app if you are looking to focus on sleep, meditation, and relaxation. It is a great mindfulness app for beginners as there are guided meditation sessions depending on the length you are interested in (5, 10, 15, 20mins, etc!). This app also features hundreds of ‘sleep stories’ that assist with getting you relaxed and in to a deep slumber.
Stop, Breathe & Think
Stop, Breathe & Think is an awesome app that helps you check in with yourself. It will ask you how you are feeling, and once you answer, it will provide certain guided meditations, yoga, or acupressure videos attuned to how you feel. You are able to reflect on your day with guided journaling, and it even offers daily inspiration and tips.
ThinkUp: Positive Affirmations
ThinkUp is an app that has a core focus on affirmations and motivation. Our minds and thoughts have an incredible impact on our health. This app allows you to create personalized affirmations, or choose from hundreds of preexisting ones, depending on what goals you want to work on! You are also able to track your practice and record you daily affirmations to hold yourself accountable.
Bliss is an app that acts as a gratitude journal. It is like a daily diary, that allows you to record your thoughts, feelings, and meditation from the previous day. Each journal acts as a way to help you find inspiration, build self confidence, and increase your personal mindfulness. This ultimately helps with the rewiring of your brain, to help focus on more of the positives!
I hope you find these helpful!
